Are you an ABC?

Even before we started Winedab in September 2019, we’ve been talking to you; learning, listening and understanding what you do and how you enjoy your wine.

We’ve talked to many of you about how you chose a nice bottle of wine before Winedab, and we’ve loved your honesty. These are some of the things you said:

  • “I choose the wine with the nicest label”
  • “I find a wine that I like and I stick with it”
  • “I know I like xyz grape so I always buy that”
  • “I look for wine that’s won an award”
  • “I look at the price first”

Some of you looked at the region, and some of you have a go-to winery.

Yet others knew the wines they DIDN’T like – we heard a few ABCs – “Anything but Chardonnay!” (It wasn’t just Chardonnay; many of you have grape varieties that you don’t particularly like).

But many of you wanted to try new wines, but had been put off by the risk of “getting it wrong” – i.e. buying a wine that you ended up not liking.

And that’s why Winedab does things a bit differently. We don’t select our wines by grape variety, region, or even how many gold medals they’ve won. We select each wine by how it tastes. Radical, huh!

How we select YOUR wine?

We actually look at around 12 different criteria, including how fruity, what kind of fruit and how dry it is.

We then match YOUR individual “wine type” against the profile of each wine we’ve tasted to find the perfect ones for you.

We taste over 100 wines each month from around the world to make sure we have the wines that YOU’ll like.

Here’s the thing that you might not have known: Wines from the same grape can taste radically different. That means, that even if you don’t normally drink Chardonnay, you can be sure that if we give you a Chardonnay, it will taste different from what you might expect. Because we really do match each wine to your wine type, and when we taste each wine, We are looking for flavours, and not focusing on variety.

A bit skeptical? So it was Sasha. Here is what she said:

“ I completed the really simple set of questions. In the tastings, the Winedab team found a white that I loved (really loved it) that I never would have tried (I mainly drink red!). Definitely worth it.”

So, next time time someone asks you what wine you like, don’t say “ABC”, say “MBW” (matched by Winedab) ?.

Cheers ?,

The Winedab Team

We think you’ll like this. Go on, give it a peek:

That title got your attention didn’t it? Well, so will the article itself. Serving wine doesn’t have to be complicated or hard. In this post we break down, without the complicated language, how you can make the most out of our wine.

Who knew that out of all things, wine needed to breathe? We all need air to live and be our best, so does your wine. The age-old question, “why does wine need to breathe, anyway?” is answered in this post. Explore more by clicking on the photo.

Where It All Began…

I saw that many of my friends had the same issue. They used similar tactics to avoid the choice overload – always choose the same grape or region, look for the awards, find a nice label, or, search somewhere in my memory – “what did I have last time?”.
